Benchoff Store

D. G. Benchoff came to Menard about 1895 and opened a Merchantile store. He later moved his store to the location where the present nursing home is now. I don't know if the picture below is from his first location...or the second one.

In the early 1900's, Mr. Benchoff built another store on the corner of San Saba Avenue and Decker Street. To see a picture of Benchoff's store as taken around 1907......go to Wilensky Bros Store

D. G. Benchoff left Menard and would open a merchantile store in Nugent, Texas.
