Building is Active In Home, Business

Menard, October 8,--The spirit of progress in Menard is evidenced by the erection of 30 new homes and business buildings within the last 12 month period, and two contracts call for the immediate erection of several more homes and a modern brick church.

The completion of four $3000 bungelow homes by A. E. Nauwald is the first step toward the relief of the prevelant shortage of rent houses. All of these homes were engaged by tenants a long time before their completion. An attractive $8000 brick home by C. C. Hurd, a 80,000 brick church by the Presbyterians, and a number of bungalows are in the process of construction. Among the business houses which have replaced a number of old wooden landmarks during the last year is a large brick garage with a spacious showroom by the Luckenbach Motor company. An up-to-date roof garden on top of this building has become the pride of Menard's social set.

The Moser building, erected last winter, covers an entire block in the heart of the business section. In it are housed the Moser Garage, the Vehle Bakery, The Menard Bottling Works, a meat market and a racket store.
