An Unfortunate Suicide.
(To The News)
McKavitt, Tex., July 7, 1884-I shall suicide to-day. I have been insane since the 21 ultimo. The people did not know it and have mistrusted me. I hope to land in the land of the dead to-day, for life is only the term of death, and death is the development of this higher state of existence.

I die wishing good will to all. I have tried to be useful in this world; I hope I shall be safe in the next.

(Signed),
H. Miller Dobbins

and directed to Galveston News, Galveston, Tex, with the request that you please print.

Editor News: The above named individual committed suicide by taking an overdose of laudanum. He had been here but about three weeks, and teaching school. The mistreatment he mentions was an hallucination on his part. Will you please publish the above, as he has left no papers to show that he has any friends with whom I can correspond.
