For You Got to Quit Kicking
My Dog Around----"Peter Andregg is some fighter and if you
don't believe it just kick his dog and watch results. Tuesday morning
a man kicked the dog and Peter followed the kick up with a right swing
which took the man off the sidewalk and then another hook to the mouth
and he saw dog stars in one glorious galaxy. Peter was mad, very mad,
much madder in fact than the dog and says emphatically that nobody can
kick his dog and get away with it. Next to slapping the kid, kicking the
pet dog is guaranteed to get results."

A New One
Many a good joke and many a poor one has been told on the ford cars
but we heard a new one which bears repeating. Lem Crawford owns a Ford
touring car which his wife drives and Mrs. Crawford rather prides herself
on her ability to take care of that car in all kinds of weather and under
all sorts of conditions. Last Friday morning she went out to the garage
and started the car expecting to make a trip over town The engine responded
all right and she got in and threw on the power but "Henry"
refused to go. She tried it backwards but still no results. After considerable
reversing she went in the house and told Lem to phone for a repair man.
Lem went out and looked at the car and remarked: "Lou, if you will
just take the car off those jacks it might go." It did.

As It Should Be
Buck Tipton and John Kitchens, two beginners at the steering wheel set
an example, Sunday, in automobile driving that others would do well to
follow. They were both taking their first try at driving autos and upon
meeting on the McKavett road both brought their cars to a standstill in
order to avoid a collision. In fact, Buck was so anxious to stop that
he threw on the reverse and backed into the fence in order to give John
Plenty of room to go by. He said his car didn't bother him any but the
sight of John without a mustache had him buffaloed.

Buys Monroe
Oscar Vehle, our baker, has taken unto himself a Monroe roadster which
he purchased from Bud Westbrook. Bud says he is going to use the Buick
and let his wife walk. It sounds good, but we think there is somebody
else who will have something to say about that.
Buys Chevrolet
Bob Lindsey has fallen in line with the times and has purchased a Chevrolet
car which he will use in rounding up stray cattle round town during working
hours and for pleasure at other times. The car was purchased thru the
Dyke Ward and Co. garage. Bob has spent the greater part of his life saying
“whoa” to horses and it still bothers him some right now.
