Burleson-Tindell
A telegram was received Monday by Mrs. W. J. Callan stating that her sister, Miss Doyle Tindell was married that day to Mr. Arthur Burleson. Miss Doyle is well known here having visited her sisters, Mesdames W. J. and M. M. Callan through the summer months each year. Her many friends join in the congratulations.

Thursday, February 28, 1918

Virgil M. McMullen of Menard, Texas, and Miss Lille Morris were married Thursday evening by Dr. George W. Truett at his home. The bride wore a gown of pure white and carried a shower bouquet of white carnations and ferns. Mr. and Mrs. McMullen will be at home in Dallas.

Vehle-Taylor
Last Saturday, at Dallas, occurred the marriage of Richard Vehle of Menard to Miss Bessie Taylor of Winnsboro. Richard who has been here for some time with his brother Oscar in the City Bakery, has many friends who will be interested to learn of his marriage. Miss Taylor, whose home is in Winnsboro, is a charming young lady. After the ceremony they immediately left for Sherman for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Vehle, a brother of the groom. They arrived in Menard Monday where they will make their home. The Messenger joins their friends in extending congratulations.

Harris-Morrah
Miss Maud Harris and Mr George Morrah surprised their friends, or at least a few of them Wednesday evening by going to the Methodist parsonage where Rev. Boatman pronounced the words that made them man and wife.
Mrs. Morrah is the daughter of Mrs. Lizzie Harris. Was born and reared in Menard and has many warm friends who rejoice in her happiness.
The groom, a young man of good habits, has been employed by the Frisco at this place for some time.
Mr. and Mrs. Morrah will make their home in Menard.

Walker-Moser
Word was received here last week of the marriage of Miss Rachel Walker to Mr. Otis Moser which was a surprise to the many friends of both. Miss Walker is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Walker near Mayer and is well known in Menard having visited her many friends here often. Otis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. I. F. Moser one of Menard's merchants. They are living in Bisbee, Arizona and their many friends send hearty congratulations.

Parker-Benchoff
On Wednesday, July 3rd, Ben Parker of Santa Anna and Miss Gene Benchoff of Menard were quietly married at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dallas, the Rev. Father Dimond performed the ceremony. Miss Benchoff is a Menard County girl and Menard congratulates the groom. She is one of the best cooks that Menard County ever had as well as a charming young lady. Ben Parker worked for the Messenger for some months while in Menard and previous to that in the Santa Anna News office. Ben has many friends here as well as in his home town. Mr. and Mrs. Parker will make their home in Dallas.
The Messenger extends congratulations.

Jobes-Maddox
Fred Jobes of Menard and Mrs. Ethel Maddox of Kimble county were married Sunday night at the Baptist church by Rev. J. A. Carter. Mr. Jobes has a position with the Menard Cash Grocery and they will make their home here in Menard. The Messenger extends congratulations.
