WILLIE MONROE BIHL
(contributed)
The tragic death of Willie Monroe the only son of Mr.
and Mrs. L. M. Bihl is entitled to more than a passing notice
on account of the family being well known in Menard county.
Deceased was born at Fort McKavett on November 21, 1890 having nearly
completed his twenty seventh year. The sad death occurred at San Angelo
on Saturday, September 22 as he was viewing a gas plant which exploded.
He was to be shortly married to Miss Ruth Kilpatrick
of San Angelo and was also drafted, passed his examination and expected
to leave for military service on October 8.
The funeral took place from his home on the Henderson ranch near Eden
on Sunday September 23, the Rev.M. Webb of San Angelo
paying a beautiful tribute to the deceased who was taken away from his
loved ones so suddenly. Owing to the high esteem in which he was held
there was a large attendance and the floral offerings were many and tasty.
The bereaved parents have the sympathy of all the surrounding communities
in their distress.
